The Price Of Cotton Yarn In Southern India Has Fluctuated, And The Price Of Bombay Yarn Has Declined

The price of cotton yarn in southern India has fluctuated. Tirupur’s price was stable, but traders were optimistic. Weak demand in Mumbai put pressure on cotton yarn prices. Traders said that demand was not so strong, resulting in a decline of 3-5 rupees per kilogram. Last week traders and hoarders raised the price of Bombay cotton yarn.

Bombay cotton yarn prices fell. Jai Kishan, a trader from Mumbai, said: “Due to the slowdown in demand, cotton yarn has weakened by 3 to 5 rupees per kilogram in the past few days. Traders and hoarders who had previously raised prices are now forced to reduce prices. Textile production has increased, but it is not enough to support the price of yarn.” In Mumbai, 60 pieces of combed warp and weft yarn are 1525-1540 rupees and 1450-1490 rupees per kilogram (excluding consumption tax). According to the data, 60 combed warp yarns are 342-345 rupees per kg, 80 combed weft yarns are 1440-1480 rupees per 4.5 kg, 44/46 combed warp yarns are 280-285 rupees per kg, 40/41 combed warp yarns are 260-268 rupees per kg, and 40/41 combed warp yarns are 290-303 rupees per kg.

However, the price of Tirupur cotton yarn is stable because the market is optimistic about future demand. Trade sources said that the overall mood improved, but the yarn price remained stable because the price was already hovering at a high level. However, traders believe that although the demand for cotton yarn has improved in recent weeks, it is still low. Tirupur 30 counts of combed yarn per kg 280-285 rupees (excluding consumption tax), 34 counts of combed yarn per kg 292-297 rupees, 40 counts of combed yarn per kg 308-312 rupees, 30 counts of combed yarn per kg 255-260 rupees, 34 counts of combed yarn per kg 265-270 rupees, 40 counts of combed yarn per kg 270-275 rupees.

Cotton prices in Gujarat remained stable, and demand from cotton ginners was weak. Although the spinning mill increased production to meet the expected demand of the domestic and foreign markets, the recent increase in cotton prices deterred buyers. The price hovers at 62300-62800 rupees per Candy (356 kg).
