From February 6 to 7, researcher Chen Tao, deputy director of the sericulture industry product quality supervision and inspection and testing center (Zhenjiang) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, researcher Zhang Meirong, and researcher Yao Xiaohui carried out quality sampling for the spring silkworm eggs in Jiangsu Province in 2023, accompanied by Wang Xin, deputy director of the provincial sericulture institute, Dr. Jiang Tao, and agronomist Yao Yinbang.
According to the requirements of the Notice on Carrying out the Quality Spot Check of Mulberry Seed for Production in 2023, the sampling group and its team respectively carried out the quality spot check and appearance inspection of the over-age silkworm eggs produced in 2022 that were refrigerated in Zhenjiang Silkworm Farm Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Silkworm Seed Industry Co., Ltd. and Yancheng Forest Silkworm Seed Service Center. In this sampling, 3 batches of original seeds and 18 batches of first-generation hybrids were selected from 9 silkworm seed production units, covering the main silkworm variety Jingsong in the province × Haoyue, Su Hao × Zhong Ye (Kangkang), Huakang 3 and new silkworm variety Surong × The sampling coverage rate of tin jade production enterprises is 100%. This sampling inspection has played an important role in further strengthening the quality supervision of silkworm eggs in the province and ensuring the safety of production and seed use in spring in each base.
